Malte Kebbel's central motif on his aluminium elements seems to consist of lines, waves and repetitive algorithmic strokes and shapes. The apparent motif, however, is only the visible surface, for underneath this surface is an infinite number of motifs hidden. The Berlin artist's installation resembles a 3D puzzle composed of uniform, oval elements. Each element is printed with a repetitive, light-sensitive and luminescent motif. The plug-in system transforms the planar parts into a space-consuming, constantly continuing installation. A familiar principle that holds endless combination possibilities.
